HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ...and all that junk

Happy new Year! Mike and I are OLD. We were in bed asleep before 9:00. The severe winter storm that we were supposed to get didn't happen. We were SUPPOSED to get 4 - 6 inches of snow, with 1/4 inch of ice (from freezing rain) on top.

We got MAYBE 2 inches of snow, and a thin little crust on top. PFT! Not even worth the effort it took to send out the warning. The boys were rather put out this morning when I went out to pull their blankets. They gave me "The Look" that said, "I had to wear this stupid thing for NOTHING!" The ROADS, however, should be a nasty sheet of ice. During the "snow" part, the roads thawed and packed. Should be slickery! (Yes...that IS a word).

We are off to get some groceries...no eggs for breakfast. With luck we'll return with no new dents in the car.

Have a safe and happy day, may it last the whole year. Hugs your horses and take them some quartered apples!

Blessings!

Karen

I don't usually do much for New Year's, but this year I did, and I am so glad. Hands down, the best part was the moment I spent with my horse early in the evening -- see my blog post "Ringing in the New Year" to see what I mean.

But I also wanted to mention that I'm doing a fun book giveaway on my blog. I've done a few of these in the past, but this time I'm asking people to write in with stories about how a horse has touched their lives. I'm hoping to get some good stories! Do you mind making a mention on your blog?

Naw, you're not old. Hubby and I rang in the new year shampooing our carpets-then we lit fireworks for the kids and went to bed. Happy New Year!

I absolutely do NOT mind anyone posting a link to their blog here! It's called Networking!

I started because of the Fugly Blog. Others have started a blog because of mine.

Connecting horses and horse people is very important! There might be a horse in need in your area that someone contacts you about. You might not be able to help, but know someone who can. The horse is saved because someone knew someone who knew someone.

Thanks, Karen! I've gotten a few stories already, and they are all wonderful. I hope there are more to come!
