The Deed is Done!
Lacey came over and helped me with Beau. I somehow survived the whole experience! The hairy little pervert seemed to enjoy the cleaning and massaging. He never did "drop", so we had to do a blind extraction of the bean. I will be getting some oral ace for next time to help him relax.

Yay! I'm sure Beau must be feeling tons better! I have no idea what a "normal" sized bean is (yeah, mare owner) but that thing looks likt must be on the large and certinly uncomfortable side! Well done!

Yup, I have a gelding. Sheath cleaning and beaning (frown) is not a subject to dwell on - to quote Something's Gotta Give "Hey, we're not all doctors baby!"

I tried doing it myself once and for the life of me I couldn't find any beans! I had a friend come over and help and she found one. Now, I find it so much easier to just pay my vet $25 and write the check out.
Wow, that's a pretty good sized bean, no wonder he was swollen! Poor guy, I bet he feels much better. He's lookin great Karen, I'm so glad he found you... by the way, for any of you on here who raise cattle, we had a TINY heifer calf born today, doesn't seem to be premature or a "dummy" calf, perfectly normal and developed, and she weighed in at only 23 pounds!! He is still swollen, but I notice that he "dangles" more than he did. I've had to doctor Angel and Squirrel for the last two nights. Naughty girls got in a kicking contest and they both got cut up. Squirrel was on the losing end, though LOVE T-Zone cream!!
Horses will be horses... I had to move my mare to her own corral because she was being such a bully to the other two when they were all turned out togehter, not so much kicking, but biting... big time. T-Zone does work well :o)
Hopefully the swelling goes down soon... he has to be feeling better though!
