Poo poo nuts and throwing a fit

Funny, huh! I get so excited about Beau and his poops. Just have to share.

The vet came this morning and gave Beau a West Nile shot. She also checked his teeth and figured he is about 25 years old. After she left, I turned all the other horses out on pasture and he proceeded to throw a fit for about 15 minutes. So good to see that he DOES still have some spunk!

Yay! So glad to see you were able to get some action shots! He must be feeling pretty good to be moving around like that!

Wow! He must be feeling so much better! When do you think he will be able to get his teeth done? And does he have enough left that afterwards he will be able to eat hay again? Or has that ship sailed on his teeth?

I'm not going to even schedule his teeth until the end of September, so 4 more weeks.

He does have back teeth. I think the deal is that his front teeth are so long that his back teeth don't mesh. I'm sure he also has uneven wear on his back teeth.

On his right side, he always looks like he's got chipmuck cheeks, like he's got a bunch of food stored in there. He may have one tooth that's rotated, or something. Depending on what can be done, he might be able to eat hay again. I'm hoping so!

The thing is, with all the work he's going to need, his mouth will be very sore and he'll probably go off his feed for a day or two. That's why I want to get him up to a really good weight before I do anything with his teeth. He can't afford to NOT eat at this point.

Since he's doing so good and eating so well, I'm figuring that he's got more teeth than I orginally thought. They just aren't suitable for hay.

Just wanted to let you know that I am completely addicted to this blog. I check out Fugly first and then this one second. I was in bed all day yesterday with the flu and kept cycling between the two hoping for bonus posts! LOL :D

I love your website and blogs about Beau. You and your husband are a blessing and have a loving spirit to rescue horses such as Beau. I will never be able to thank you enough for everything.
Brittney is overjoyed that Beau is with you, she said she loves reading your blogs everyday hearing and seeing the mircles you are doing with him. God Bless! Jill

YOU SHOULD NOT POST FALSE INFORMATION ON YOUR SITE. I WILL GIVE YOU SOME FACTS! BEAU IS OVER THIRTY. BEAU WAS OWNED BY A WOMAN WHO CAME TO VISIT YOU AND BEAU A WEEK AGO SUNDAY.SHE DUMPED HIM OFF AT MY HOUSE TEN YEARS AGO.NEVER PAID FOR ANYTHING IN TEN YEARS. IFED HIM AND PAID VET BILLS FOR TEN YEARS. I TRIED TO GET HER TO DO SOMETHING WITH HIM FOR TEN YEARS. I WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS WITH HIS TEETH AND HAVE FED HIM PELLETS, GRAIN AND SUPPLIMENTS FOR THE LAST TWO YEARS, BUT I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR MONEY TO DO IT ANY MORE. IT WAS NOT UNTIL THE SHERIFF CALLED ME AND I THREATEND TO PUT HIM DOWN THAT SHE DECIDED TO FINALY DO SOMETHING. PUT THESE FACTS ON YOUR FRONT PAGE AND POINT YOUR ACCUSING FINGER IN THE DIRECTION IT BELONGS! P.S. APOLOGY ACCEPTED.
