Originally, this blog was started to chronicle the journey of what can happen when a forgotten horse falls into the loving hands of people who care. Joy has left us, but in letting her go, I continue to live the lessons that she taught me, and attempt to Restore Joy to other horses that come into my life.

Ooh! Dobbs is so handsome! I could just gobble him up!
He's an AWESOME gentleman. 18 yrs old, son of Smooth Town. The only thing with him is he has an old stifle injury that was never rehabilitated. We're working on it. He's so easy to handle and is so polite!
Cathy found me Mr. Right, but he's out of my price range. :(
Easy... I think that's what I want. To be able to enjoy and not just work, work, work!
I don't currently have Dobbs for sale, but I "might" be sweet talked into letting him go... What's your price range? (I have an idea of what I want for him, but I need convincing to part with him.)
Just an FYI RE: the stifle weakness... the more I ride him, the better he gets! He tends to stiffen up some if I let him sit for any length fo time.
Are you thinking maybe he's starting to get arthritic?
Nope...don't think so. If I ride him every other day or so, he smooths out. It's not a "limp", more of a short step. The more active he is, the better he is. I also stretch him before I ride him.
A stifle problem will only get better with work. These horses are ideal for people who like to ride at least 3-4 days a week.
