THANK YOU DOUBLE TROUBLE 4-H!!!

A couple months ago my shoulder started hurting.  I'm not sure what I did, maybe slept on it wrong?  Anyway, it got progressively worse to the point where it was waking me up in the night.  So the barn chores were set aside and the poop piled up.

So I thought perhaps there was a 4-H group that needed to perform some community service, and make a little money for their group.  I saw a posted from Rosamarie Acevedo from Tri-City Barrel Racing Club that her kids' 4-H group was doing a carwash.  I thought PERFECT!!  I contacted Rosamarie and asked if the group was interested.  Lucky for me, they were!

The kids came out this morning to beat the heat, and cleaned my pens!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Done working, now supervising.

Mike's Latest Project.

Actually, it ended being MY little project because Mike decided that doing it himself was too straining on his back.  Rest assured...his back is fine.  Mine hurts though...

Tomorrow, I'm going to get a crap ton of purple Pansies and put around the edge.  But for now..enjoy!

Before (Chiquita in the background, supervising)

Momma and Daddy Swallow did care much for me working in the vicinity of their nest.

Getting there...

Almost...

Just needs the Pansies

TURNOUT!!

We fertilized and sprayed for weeds over the last month and the pasture is FINALLY ready for the horses.  I must say the pasture looks awesome right now!!

The End of the Tunnel

We have reached the end of the tunnel and now stand in the light of possibilities.

On 5/10/2013, Mike graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science.  He is going to get his CSP Certification (which is safety related), then he'll be looking for work - probably in August.

We are SO very proud of him!
