It's been seven days since Cappy arrived. He has eaten two bags of hay pellets, and three bags of senior feed. Yesterday, it was 40 degrees and rained all day. In the evening, it warmed up 15 degrees. Right now, its 53 degrees and sunny, so I pulled his blanket off to brush him and get some pictures.

If It Ain't Flies, It's Gnats!!!
Tonight, as I was feeding, Roger and Angel were fussing at each other, kicking and raising a ruckus. The whole thing started because Roger had his evening grain, and Angel hadn't been fed yet. Angel can put her nose within 12 inches of Roger grain tub, though there are bars. Roger doesn't like Angel looking and his food. Anyway, when I went in to pull his blanket and brush him out before putting it back on for the night, I saw him take a wonky step. When I looked, his left ankle was HUGE! Apparently he had hit it on something during the fuss. When I came in to get the camera, he wasn't bearing weight on it and was was resting it on the toe. I guess we'll see if he really hurt himself, or if he just "hit his funnybone". I don't think it's very funny....
I put a tarp up so Angel can't stand by his grain tub and drool...

Captain Jack Sparrow - "Sparrow" "Cappy"
For now, just pictures. These are taken 30 days after rescue - you can imagine what he looked like before. He looks this good thanks to some giving, caring, amazing women who couldn't say "no" to a darling little horse in need. The story on this guy is coming, but probably not today.
